MY STORY

For the past 10 years I’ve been a broadcaster and commentator both in my spare time and in a professional capacity.

When I sat in my dad’s car as a child to listen to my very first football match on national radio, I found my destiny. I just knew I wanted to be that man behind the microphone.

I studied hard, left university with a degree and embarked on my career in journalism at a Bradford press agency, covering the law courts during the week and sport at weekends for the nationals and other recognised publications.

I’ve been the editor of a weekly global newsletter, travelled to the Far East and written numerous articles and features but my true passion has always been commentating on sport and I got my break with a community radio station one cold Tuesday night watching Bradford City reserves.

In the last two years alone, I’ve commentated on more than 60 football matches up and down the country from the Premier league to the FA Vase and covered other sports such as cricket, tennis and rugby union.

I throw myself in to every commentary. My preparation notes are meticulous, right down to the minutest detail but I’m not ashamed of that. After all, whoever said ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ had a point.
